It’s great to have a fake tan. It saves you the time and effort in getting that sun-kissed glow on your skin. You won’t have to worry about getting sunburns while sunbathing, you just have to buy a self-tanner product that suits you. Having that said, it’s not always a walk in the park when it comes to self-tanning. When you’re a novice in doing such a tasks, there are many ways that could possibly ruin your tan and it can be a disaster for your skin tone. If you encountered a scenario as such, it would be hard to fix and it would be embarrassing to go outside looking burnt! Here are the things NOT TO DO when getting a fake tan.
DO NOT FORGET THE FACE!
What’s worse than an unevenly colored tan around the body? Forgetting to apply the tanner to your face! That’s right, imagine yourself having a bronze-like body showing the features of the curves and the length of the legs while having your face bright and normal. You’ll look like having a face in someone else’s body! To avoid this, be sure to apply the product in the face to even the skin tone in relation to the lower body. But be sure not to apply too much, you don’t want to look burnt in the facial area also.
DON’T USE TOO MUCH!
You can’t go too dark, too brown, or too pink when it comes to your self-tanner product. Be sure to read the directions on how to use it or look it up in the internet on how to use the product. Don’t rely on your own to do this especially if you’re new because you’ll probably get results far from expected. Doing this wrong can result in you being too dark like charcoal, too brown like wood, or too pink like a naked rat!
DO NOT USE A PAINT ROLLER
This is one of the most important what not to do in applying your self-tanning products, DO NOT USE A PAINT ROLLER! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, there’s a woman who attempted to use a paint roller in applying her tanning products and the results were definitely disastrous for her. Her skin’s color turned out to be, according to her, the color of a dining table and imagine that even without having to look at her picture of this! So best be advised that you never use a paint roller in applying the product, best use your hands since it is the best tool in rubbing your skin.
